Many big projects are almost completed in the Lenzerheide ski resort. The chairlift “Obertor” has been built, the license of the lift Rothorn 2 was renewed and a new gondola cableway will be constructed too. The lift Rothorn 2 has been given new cabins in June 2015. The two ski resorts Arosa and Lenzerheide are getting closer and closer together. All these projects will be ready for winter 2015.

After almost 20 months of being under construction, the newest TITLIS Xpress will start working in December 2015. The cable car is constructed in two parts so that they can work together or alone, either taking skiers to the mountain top or dropping them off slightly lower down. The journey time will last approximately 16 minutes and will carry between 1,600 to 2,400 skiers an hour. The cabins have amazing modern windows to enjoy the spectacular views. In addition, the lifts are now equipped with the system Level Walk-In that makes easier stepping in and out.

For winter 2015/2016 the ski lift Hirli will be substituted with a new 6-person chairlift. However, the biggest project will be completed in 2018/2019, where the highest 3S cable car in the world will be constructed.

This should act as a substitute for the Prui lift from the next winter season onwards. The new mountain station will be positioned in Clünas, where a new slope will also be opened. The new lift will be unveiled in December 2015.

From the next winter season (2015/2016) the old 3-person chairlift La Siala (which is over 30 years old) will be retired. The old La Siala will be sold and the revenue will be used to aid a project “Energie ohne Grenzen” (Energy without limits) for Nepal. It will be replaced by a new and ultramodern cableway with 8 spaces, the cableway has been built in Sterzing (Italy) and designed by Pininfarina, who are an Italian company. Spacious, comfortable and high-quality heated seats, spectacular views and an excellent wind protection glass will provide the skiers with the best comfort ever. The energy for the heat will come from a photovoltaic system installed on the base station facade.

The connection project between Andermatt and Sedrun has already started. The new chairlift has received the go ahead to be built. It will be a 6-person chairlift with a weather protection cover and will be able to carry 1590 skiers per hour. It will replace the old 2-person chairlifts and the Bügellift.
